Holiday FAQ – Unbelts Canada

Holiday FAQ

Things that are a good use of your time this holiday season: tobogganing with friends until your cheeks are a rosy pink and your toes are a little numb (in a pleasant having-so-much-fun-where-did-the-time-go way, not an omg-do-I-have-frostbite way), seeing how many mini marshmallows you can fit in a single cup of hot chocolate, perfecting your holiday cheer playlist.

Things that are not a good use of your time: stressing about whether your parcels will arrive on time, or if you’ll have to explain to your family that despite great working conditions and an endless supply of milk and cookies, Santa’s workshop was experiencing a major labour shortage this year.

We’ve put together everything you need to know about supply chain delays, shipping cut-offs, holiday wrapping, and gifting ideas, so you can focus on the important stuff - like what to buy Great Aunt Carol.

Supply Chain Delays

Supply chain delays?

Yep, we’ve got ‘em. Unbelts’ Founder, Claire, explained in a recent blog what’s been going on with global supply chains and how that’s been affecting Unbelts. We’ll be keeping you updated throughout the month, but our recommendation is to shop early, especially if you have your heart set on a particular colour or style.

When you place an order from our online store, your order is shipped from our Canadian studio in Edmonton, Alberta. So you *can* rest assured that your item is in-stock when you buy it and it won’t be sitting on a port somewhere or waiting to clear customs. If it’s showing as available on our website - the only steps between your item and your doorstep is our team packing it and the folks at Canada Post delivering it.

Shipping Timelines

When should I place my order by?

Speaking of Canada Post, things are taking a little bit longer than usual to get to their destinations this year. We recommend placing your order before the following parcel deadlines:

    • Expedited- December 14, 2021
    • Lettermail-
December 8, 2021

    • Expedited- December 16, 2021
    • Lettermail- December 14, 2021

Edmonton (shipping):

    • Lettermail- December 19, 2021

And remember, if your gift is over $49, shipping is 100% free.

Please Note: Shipping deadlines are subject to change as Canada Post shipping cutoffs are updated. Actual delivery date may vary depending on origin, destination, Post Office acceptance date and time and other conditions, including customs delays.

If you are having any questions or concerns regarding a shipment, please feel free to contact us at prior to placing your order. Thank you for shopping with us this holiday season. Shop Early, Shop Local!

Can I pickup my order?

Yes, we offer curbside pickup to those in Edmonton and the surrounding area. If you are planning on picking up your order from our Edmonton curbside location (9909 72 Avenue), your order must be placed by December 22, 2021. Our curbside times are 10AM - 4PM Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Gifting? We can wrap it up.

Want us to do your holiday shipping for you?

No prob. Tell us in your order comments at check-out that this is a gift, and we'll ship it in an unbranded (but very shiny) mailer labelled to them, from you. Just make sure to include their address as the order shipping address or in the order notes.

What is included when we send the gift?

Sparkly tissue? Yes.
Tape? No - we want them to be able to re-use that tissue.
Visible pricing? Of course not. We're all classy here.

No hassle - just a really delightful piece of surprise mail that's LITERALLY GLEAMING with holiday spirit, friends.
